Sound Thinking

One of the many things that I enjoyed at the recent Northeast Linux Fest was the crash course in Audacity (Thanks, Pokey). Audacity is cross-platform software for recording and editing sound. Info is available at http://audacity.sourceforge.net

My current plans with Audacity are:

1. Create a sound clip from a larger recording.

2. Take a full length cassette tape and convert it to digital media so that I can replay it more conveniently

3. Experiment with making a voice recording

4. Consider making a podcast

So far, I've only got as far as step number one. I had to play around with the program as I didn't clearly remember how to do all I was shown. It all went very smoothly and I was very pleased with the results.

I can see potential blog topics just spinning off of this. I could post on how to do the four steps above, or write about all the happenings of the Linux Fest. Gee, either topics would have potential as a podcast too.
