My Favorite Robot

Greg Risling of The Associated Press reported that on January 18, Bob May had passed away at age 69. Bob was the actor who got inside and worked the mechanical device that was the robot on the television series "Lost in Space" (The voice was done by Dick Tufeld).

The robot fascinating me years back. Before I knew any better I thought it was an actual robot and that only the voice was done over. Funny, right? Still the robot character was one that I always loved. The robot seemed very cold and mechanical in the earlier shows and as the series progressed seemed to become more of a cherished family member.

Memories.

A Little Green

Plastic grocery bags. I try to hang on them rather than dispose of them, and put them up for whatever use I can get out of them. I find that they have been accumulating too much as of late.

Yesterday, when going to the store, I brought several of these bags with me. I handed them to the bagger and asked him to use these rather than new bags. I did feel a bit awkward at first, but soon after it felt rather rewarding to visualize that I kept that many new plastic bags from potentially heading into a landfill.

Food Friday

Hershey Candy Cane Kisses. White chocolate with pieces of candy cane blended in. Fairly smooth. Very tasty. It's post season for this now, but well worth picking up if found in a markdown bin.

Resolution

This time of year is a time when many people make resolutions.
I'm not motivated to do so in the least.

There are too many uncertainties ahead of me this year. I imagine that rather than the year being made of my plans laid out, waiting to be fulfilled, that it will be more like a winding, rocky road, not seeing much beyond the current moment. Isn't that really how life truly is after all?

On that note, I resolve nothing. I know that many things are very likely to change for me this year, some dramatically. My hope is that I embrace all the changes and that they are all ultimately positive. I want to look forward to what's ahead, hopefully to be able to know even when things look dismal, that it is just a partial step toward something new and better.

Happy New Year
